How it works

Three steps and a person behind each one.

1

Tell us about your family

Who is at home, what you need and where. Live-in or live-out, days and hours, cooking, children, driving.

2

We introduce candidates

One at a time, with her experience, her references and her phone number. You talk directly, meet in person or by video call, and you decide.

3

She starts working

If all is well after 7 days, you pay our fee, once. And for 12 months, if you need to change, we replace her at no cost.

Our fee: one month's salary, and that's it

One month of her gross salary
Paid once, 7 days after she starts.
  • No monthly fees and no tie-in: you employ her directly.
  • 12-month guarantee: as many replacements as you need, at no cost.
  • If you prefer, we introduce you to a payroll service that handles the contract, HMRC and PAYE.
  • The candidate never pays anything.

What a live-in housekeeper costs

You agree the salary between you, according to hours, duties, area and experience. In London a live-in housekeeper or nanny is usually paid between £600 and £850 a week gross; the National Living Wage (£12.71 an hour from April 2026) applies to live-in staff too. On top of that you pay employer National Insurance and, if she qualifies, a workplace pension.

An example: with a salary of £2,800 a month, our fee is £2,800, once. Many agencies charge a percentage of the annual salary; we charge one month's salary, once.

Ask your insurer or payroll service about employer's liability insurance: many nanny payroll packages and some home insurance policies include it. We tell you what applies to your case.

What we check before introducing anyone

You will only see candidates who have been through this. Not one more.

Right to work in the UK

We check her right to work (British or Irish passport, or a Home Office share code for settled or pre-settled status, ILR or a visa) before she appears on the site, and you check it too before she starts.

References we have called

Each candidate lists the families she has worked for, with their phone number, so you can call them yourself before deciding.

Real experience

What she has actually done: children and their ages, cooking, housekeeping standards, elderly care. We go through it with her before accepting her.

English, spoken with her

We talk to every candidate, so we can tell you honestly how well she speaks English.

DBS check, if she provides it

Candidates who wish to can provide a basic DBS certificate, and you will see it on her profile.

Worth knowing before you start

You are the employer

Domestic staff in the UK are employed by the family: a written statement of terms from day one, PAYE with HMRC, National Insurance, holiday pay (5.6 weeks a year) and a workplace pension if she qualifies. It sounds like a lot; a nanny payroll service does all of it for a small monthly fee, and we introduce you to one if you wish.

Live-in is not 24 hours

A live-in housekeeper has agreed working hours and days off, usually two consecutive days a week, and her own room. If you need cover at night or every weekend, one person cannot do it: we help you organise it with a second candidate.

Right to work is not optional

Employing someone without the right to work in the UK carries fines of up to £60,000 per worker for the employer. That is why we check it before you meet anyone, and why we do not introduce candidates who cannot show it, however good they are.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to find someone?+

It depends on the area and on what you need. In London and the Home Counties we usually have candidates available within days; further out it can take longer. We tell you clearly from the first message.

Do you cover the whole of the UK?+

We work mainly in London and the Home Counties. Some live-in candidates are happy to relocate, so we can also help further afield: we tell you honestly what we have for your area.

Is she your employee?+

No. You employ her directly, as families in the UK do with domestic staff. We select her, check her documents and references, support you before and after she starts, and replace her if it does not work out. That is why there are no monthly fees.

What if it does not work out?+

For 12 months from the day she starts, we find you another candidate at no cost, as many times as needed.

Does she have the right to work in the UK?+

We only present candidates whose right to work we have checked: settled or pre-settled status, indefinite leave to remain, or a visa that allows this work. As her employer, you also check it yourself before she starts, as the law requires.

What does a live-in housekeeper cost?+

You agree the salary between you. In London a live-in housekeeper or nanny is usually paid between £600 and £850 a week gross, depending on hours, duties and experience; live-out, by the hour or by the day. The National Living Wage applies to live-in staff too. On top of the salary you pay employer National Insurance and, if she qualifies, a workplace pension.

Do you help with the contract and payroll?+

We tell you what applies to your case and, if you prefer, we introduce you to a nanny payroll service that registers you with HMRC and runs PAYE for a small monthly fee.

Do you charge the candidate anything?+

Never. The service is always free for candidates.

For candidates

Looking for work as a housekeeper or nanny in the UK?

We are looking for live-in and live-out housekeepers and nannies for families in London and across the UK, with a written contract, PAYE and at least the National Living Wage. We never charge you anything.

What we ask of you

  • The right to work in the UK (share code, settled status, ILR or a visa that allows this work).
  • Experience as a housekeeper, nanny or carer.
  • If you have them, references from families you have worked for, with their phone number.
  • A photo of yourself for your profile.

If you have a friend who is also looking, bring her: a recommendation from a candidate we know helps us get to know her sooner.
